FOCUS Hike4Life Summer 2009: Kyrgyzstan

The first ever Summer Hike4Life Challenge took place in Kyrgyzstan between July 30 and August 9, 2009. Participants hiked in the vicinity of Lake Issyk-kul in Kyrgyzstan, which is the second largest mountain lake in the world and also has been referred to as the "pearl of central asia".

Itinerary

Day 1: Bishkek (arrival into Bishkek early morning on July 31st)

Day 2: Bishkek - Jety Oguz (August 1st)

Day 3: Jety Ogyz - Chon Kyzyl Suu (August 2nd)

Day 4: Chon Kyzyl Suu - Kichi Kyzyl Suu (August 3rd)

Day 5: Kichi Kyzyl Suu - Jukku gorge (August 4th)

Day 6: Jukku gorge - Dongurome (August 5th)

Day 7: Dongurome - pass Jukku -Syrti (August 6th)

Day 8: Syrti - North shore of Issyk Kul Lake (August 7th)

Day 9: North shore of Issyk Kul Lake (August 8th/9th)
